1. Basic Structure of Electric Butterfly Valve
Electric butterfly valve is mainly composed of the following parts:
(1) Valve Part
● Valve body: Usually flanged type (Wafer/Lug) or double flanged type (Double Flanged), materials include cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, etc.
● Butterfly plate: disc structure, rotatable 90° for switching, the material can be stainless steel, aluminum bronze or plastic cladding.
● Valve stem: connects the butterfly plate and the actuator to transmit torque.
● O-ring: EPDM, NBR, PTFE, or metal solid seal is usually used to ensure sealing when closed.
(2) Electric Drive Part
● Motor: Provides power, usually AC 220V/380V or DC 24V.
● Speed reduction mechanism: reduces the speed and increases the output torque.
● Control Module: Receives a switching signal (such as 4-20mA, 0-10V, or Modbus signal) to realize regulation and control.
● Limit switch: Sets the fully open/fully closed position to prevent overloading.
● Manual Control Mechanism: Some actuators are equipped with flywheels that can be operated manually when the power is off.
2. Working Principle of Electric Choke
● Control input: PLC/DCS system or control panel sends electrical signals (such as opening/closing, adjustment signals) to the electric actuator.
● Motor Drive: The drive motor starts, decelerates through the reducer, and outputs high torque to rotate the valve stem.
● Throttle Action: The valve stem causes the throttle to rotate 0°~90° to achieve full opening, full closure or proportional fluid regulation.
● Feedback signal: The actuator has a built-in potentiometer or encoder, which can provide feedback when the valve opens (e.g., 4-20mA signal).
