1. Structure and principle of operation
● Main components: valve body, valve cover, valve disc (valve core), valve stem, handwheel (or actuator), seal.
● Working principle: When the handwheel is turned, the valve stem causes the valve disc to rise and fall vertically, changing the hole between the valve seat and the valve disc, thereby regulating the flow or closing it completely.
● Open state: The liquid flows in the shape of the letter "S" and the flow can be precisely adjusted.
● Closed state: The valve disc fits snugly against the valve seat and has a good seal.
2. Connection Method
Threaded connection:
● Internal thread: The valve body has an internal thread that matches the external thread of the pipe.
● Male thread: The valve body has an external thread that matches the internal thread of the pipe.
Common thread standards:
● G Thread (BSPP, British Pipe Thread)
● NPT thread (American tapered pipe thread)
● Metric thread (such as M thread)
3. Applicable Environments and Industries
● Applicable media: water, steam, oil, gas, corrosive liquid (depending on the material).
● Applicable Industries:
Petrochemicals: High Temperature and High Pressure Pipeline System
Electric power: boiler feed water, steam system
Pharmaceutical/Food & Beverage: Pure Liquid Control
HVAC: Chilled Water, Hot Water Adjustment
4. Pickpoints
● Diameter (DN): Common DN15~DN100 (small and medium diameter).
● Pressure level (PN): PN16, PN25, PN40 (medium and high pressure).
● Temperature range: selectable according to the sealing material (PTFE≤200°C, metal seal≤600°C).
● Flow Direction Design:
Low Inlet and High Output (Standard Type): Suitable for normal working conditions.
High Inlet and Low Outlet (Reverse Setting): Suitable for high pressure drop cases to reduce the force on the valve stem.
