1. Design features
● Y-type housing: the fluid path is Y-shaped, which reduces pressure loss and has a compact structure.
● Threaded connection: The inlet and outlet use internal thread (such as NPT, BSP) or external thread, which is easy to mount on small diameter pipes (usually DN≤50mm).
● Filter Screen: Mainly made of stainless steel (such as 304/316) with extra mesh density (20-100 cells) and can be disassembled for cleaning.
● Sealing material: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or rubber gasket is usually used to ensure sealing.
2. Principle of operation
● The liquid enters the filter through the inlet, and the clean liquid flows out through the outlet after the impurities are trapped by the filter screen. Impurities settle at the bottom of the filter screen and the filter screen must be disassembled and drained or cleaned regularly.
3. Advantages
● Easy to install: The threaded connection is suitable for space-constrained occasions, no welding or flange joining.
● Cost-effective and practical: Low cost, easy maintenance, and reusable filter screen.
● Low pressure loss: Y-type design reduces fluid resistance.
4. Application Scenarios
● Small water supply system, HVAC circulating water.
● Protection of the front of the instrument (e.g. flow meter, pressure reducing valve).
● Filtration of oil impurities and chemicals.
